To appreciate the authenticity of your favorite jewelry, the Russian blues queen, and that's exactly what Victoria Pierre-Marie asks herself to call herself, entrusted not to anyone but the experts of the Assay Chamber. According to experts, in our jewelry market, half of the goods are products of very doubtful quality. Emeralds, sapphires, rubies, diamonds and rare alexandrite’s in exquisite gold and platinum frames. Only a specialist for noble shimmer sees a false shine.

Synthetic or artificially grown stone manufacturers prefer to call the veiled term "nanocrystal". Legislation obliges sellers to indicate on the label the origin of stones: natural or artificial. But not all are ready to obey the law. Therefore, before you decorate your finger with a carat, ask the store to conduct a test.

You can distinguish the imitation from a diamond with a tester. Anyone who shows the thermal conductivity or electrical conductivity of the material. This is elementary. Such testers are in many stores.

If there is no tester, the purchase becomes risky. At a price it's pointless to navigate. At first glance, a saturated blue sapphire can actually be a fake. The color of the stone is also often artificially created.

You can forge any stone. Rubies are pumped with lead, giving them a perfect color. Emeralds and sapphires are treated with nitrones and kept in the chamber until the stones acquire the desired color. From diamonds drill inclusions, that is, foreign crystals, and fill the holes with a special gel.

It is often only a gemologist who can determine a fake. The philistine sees a sparkling stone and does not doubt its authenticity. And the glass, too, sparkles.

Artificial diamonds often accompanies smuggling on the shelves. Customs officers have difficulty in delaying illegal goods.

In 2016, 97,019 objects were investigated. Mostly it was jewelry. Basically, the objects of research come to us from the Arab Emirates.

Smuggling does not pass state control. Therefore, in these jewelry, the gold content can be many times less than the one declared on a fake sample, and instead of a precious stone, an ordinary glass, not even a fianite.
