Did you have a cool lunch box?

The other day I was watching an episode of American Pickers and a guy claimed that he had the ‘complete set’ of every kid’s lunchbox ever made. The collector and Mike Wolfe talked at length about their personal grade school lunch boxes with great reverence. I on the other hand, don’t remember if I even had a lunch box in grade school. Probably because I usually walked home or just brown-bagged it on those occasions I ate my lunch at school. But truth be told, I do remember having ‘lunch box envy’ when kids came to school with maybe a soup thermos or some tasty side items like homemade cupcakes or a slice of pie in their lunch boxes. I’m guessing those kinds of delicacies didn’t travel well in a paper bag transported by a knucklehead like me.
