This is just a quick update on a story that gathered a lot of attention under #familyprotection and it's good news, something we don't see very often.
The 12 year Norwegian boy kidnapped from his family because he was homeschooled has been reunited with his family in record time.
The dramatic kidnap took place on February 9 and after a court hearing last week it was decided the boy should go back to his family, which is quite a miracle. On their lawyers advice, they kept the news a secret until they got the boy home. Their troubles are not over as they've had to sign an agreement stating conditions to be met and the Norwegian CPS, the dreaded Barnevernet, will be watching them for some time, but Kai Kristiansen is back where he belongs.
As the boy's father says in his message the international support for their case was of great help and this is something we can easily do. The Kristiansens started a #freekai social media campaign, got the support of the Home School Legal Defense Association who initiated a petition signed by over 23.000 people, they contacted lawyers and local NGOs fighting Barnevernet abuse. They were not alone. No one needs to fight alone.
The more attention a case gets, the more pressure we put on protective services.
With a little of a coordinated effort this indeed is a way we here at FP could approach some of the immediate needs when a child(ren) are taken. Shining the light on those that want to disrupt families with no good reason, sort of like the "name and shame" @jockey was mentioning. It does make a difference. A little "we seeeee you" never hurts.

That's good news! Returning the boy home proves the idea from many posts, that every case of withdrawal of children should be made public, then the chances of a positive result increase. Thank you for this news!
