Does Bill C-92 Make the Grade?

Dr. Cindy Blackstock is the primary and most effective advocate for First Nations children in care. She was the spearhead that brought the suits and complaints forward that led to the rulings against Canada for knowingly discriminating against First Nations children. She continues to fight Canada as the government continues to ignore court orders to fix the problem.

At any rate, she tweeted the following article today about the government’s much lauded bill to correct children in care issues for First Nations. The report, written by the Yellowhead Institute, an Indigenous founded and focused thinktank, gives the new Bill very low marks, Fs and Ds mostly in all the key areas. Long story short: it is a poor bill.

Longer story short: same old, same old.
