Kimmit is a city in the South of Shevarah with a population estimated at around 800,000. It is also home to Luner Hamosch, the ruler of the Southern region of the continent, and half brother to Atras Mo II, the ruler in the North.
The people of Kimmit dwell within and below the mountains, in an elaborate structure of caves and tunnels believed to have been crafted by an ancient civilisation that emigrated from Zeerah in the earliest years of man. For much of the year they survive upon fish, apples and berries, but during the winter months, in which their dwelling typically becomes snowed in, they consume a plentiful, fast-growing underground fungi which is indigenous to the region.
Luner Hamosch is said to be a ruthless leader by necessity. Given the difficult living conditions in the freezing cold climate, he must rule without mercy in order to ensure the survival of his people. He has been known to execute his subjects by burying them naked in the snow until they freeze to death - a punishment exacted upon any who eat or steal the winter fungi during the ten-moon regrow period of each year.
The Luner is considered by the majority of Shevarans to be exceptionally cunning, influencing political changes in other cities in his territory by the written word, never having reason to leave his mountain fortress in the hollowed-out peak of Mt. Kimmit. His chosen rulers in the seven major cities of South Shevarah obey his commands to the letter, mostly because he is known to have spies and informants ensuring his will is executed in the most unlikely of places, and offers no second-chances to those who choose to be selective in their interpretations of his commands. It is commonly said in the South, that if you have three friends, at least two of them are secret servants of the Luner.
The population of Kimmit is entirely Kuzian, and they are very distrustful of outsiders, especially those of the Sobanite religion.
