Told one day, there was a poor peasant living with a son. The farmer only has a skinny horse that every day helps to work on their fields. One day, whatever the cause, suddenly the farmers' horse ran away from the stable to the forest. The neighbors who know the news can only say, "It's unfortunate fate, Mr. Farmer .." Mr. Farmer just replied, "Malang or lucky? I do not know …"
A few days later, the farmer's horse returned to his cage. But he was not alone, because there was a wild horse that followed him. The neighbors who saw the event said, "Wow .. really lucky your fate Mr. Farmer, not only your horse has returned, but now you have 2 horses." Mr. Farmer just replied, "Malang or lucky? I do not know …"
The next day, the son of Mr. Peasant is eagerly trying to tame his new horse. However, it turns out the horse is too strong to be controlled, so the young man fell and broke his leg.
The neighbors who saw the incident said, "Oh Mr. Farmer, it's unfortunate for your fate!" Mr. Farmer just replied, "Unlucky or lucky? I do not know …"
Mr. Farmer's son can only lie down with his legs bandaged to heal his broken leg. It took a long time until the broken bone healed again. Soon there came the Commander of the Royal War to the village. And ordered all the youth to join the king's army to fight against the enemy of the kingdom. All young men must join, except the sick and disabled. Mr. Farmer's son does not have to fight because he still can not walk well.
The people in the village with tears released their sons fighting, saying, "Oh Mr. Farmer, really lucky your fate!" Mr. Farmer just replied, "Malang or lucky? I do not know …"
Value to take:
The story of the farmer above who has shown his modesty, is indeed our example. The Farmer does not just blame the situation when he lost his horse or when his son fell and broke his leg. Nor did he do anything extra when he got extra wild horses or when his son did not go to war.
Sometimes in this life, we too quickly take the conclusion of an event that has happened. Though not necessarily the conclusion was true. Sometimes even we can get lessons learned behind the problems we face. So from now on, let us keep positive thoughts even though the problems we face today are very difficult, because behind them all, surely will make us stronger and wiser.
