A Childhood Favorite

Many people have a childhood favorite to go out to eat. For my friend, he always enjoyed birthdays at Captain D's.

For me, a restaurant that was always special growing up was Taco John's. I remember going as a youngster with my mother or father.

Even after Taco Bell came on the scene Taco John's was always tastier and better value for me. I enjoyed the generous nacho cheese and sour cream that came with the Potato Oles (little seasoned potato rounds that came in a cup).

As a teenager, I would eat there sometimes with my then sweetheart (now wife).

I ended up living in an location that had no Taco John's in the area. When we traveled out West to South Dakota we would find a restaurant and treat ourselves. On a recent trip to Pittsburg we discovered a TJs on the way through Bristol Virginia/Bristol Tennessee (same place while driving you cross the State line mid city).

Tasty beef taco with a much thicker shell than other food chains.
