A couple of these little birds
showed up with the grey jays.

They are about the same
size as the jays.

I wonder if anyone knows
the name of this bird?

Do you think they might be fledlings? I'm seeing strange birds right now and then when I see who they are hanging out with it becomes obvious that they are the new young ones.

Good question, tho they seem well developed flying around
and such. Here is a photo of the grey jays.

It looks like they both fold their wings the same. Your photos are better, but there is a photo of a juvenile Jay here. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Canada_Jay/overview

I think you are totally right @melinda010100! :-)
I didn't even think about them being juveniles lol
They even fly at the window and scratch at it and
flutter to get my attention, both the young and adults.
Thank you for the link, sure looks like them teens!

A mystery solved! Yay! There are lots of youngsters trying to find their way in the world right now. I am overrun with baby chipmunks!

After the other day I'm not sure the all grey ones
are fledgelings as two others showed up looking
just like the ones with the yellow around the head.
They had funny fluffy feathers stuck out of the elder
feathers. Will gather some pics of them! :-)

And they are hanging with the Jays?

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Yes they all seem to fly in together even a
couple very small black caps. At least two
or three times a day.

I wonder if the black bird with the long tail is the Rusty Grackle. Do they make a cry that sounds like a rusty hinge?
I haven’t seen the Grey Jay here on the property but the common grackles with the bluish shiny head will land for the food at the same time as the Blue Jays.

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

lol a rusty hinge sound! I know that sound but not heard
the birds sing it yet! :-) These ones don't look as shiny blue
as what the rusty grackles do. Was just saying to Melinda
that two yellow head ones showed up that look like fledgelings
with downy feathers poked out of adult ones.

You should join palnet and use palnet tag.

Thank you @oldtimer! I will look into that!
I found a street sign with your name on it! :-)

The shape kind of reminds me of a phoebe, was its breast lighter colored?

They look a little lighter grey on the breast feathers.

Hmm probably a phoebe or some other flycatcher.
