Going Through My List of Followers, I Already Have Over 70, YAY!

The recently introduced Feed functionality that allows you to track what the people you follow post on steemit was quite useful upgrade. Then we also got the ability to see who follows us and who we follow, or to see who somebody else on steemit follows... more fun things to do.

I just gore a bit bored while writing yet another longer post on steemit regarding 3D printers, so I've decided that I should do something else for a change. What I did was to start looking who actually follows me and reads the S#IT I write... Ok, it is not that bad if I have over 70 followers, right?

So I set on a quest to look for more interesting people that write interesting things among my followers, so that I can follow them back and make it easier to find some other good posts on steemit. It was either that or to go through the list of people I'm following and do some cleanup as there are already 70 people there as well and I need to make some room for new followers... I'll leave that for a later time however :)

Any hidden gems among my followers that you might also want to check? Well there are a few actually, so go and check their posts... I'll just give you a list of the users, but no details about what you will find there (the list is in alphabetical order):

@alexma3x
@atomrigs
@dennygalindo
@djm34
@felixxx
@fyrstikken
@joseph
@jpdimensions
@liberosist
@lioliomir
@luke-crowley
@nonlinearone
@oaldamster
@patrice
@razvanelulmarin
@steemzine

These are not the WHALES you are looking for!

Have in mind that some of these people are new on steemit and have not yet posted much content, but I'm waiting to see what comes next from them... and you can just Unfollow anyone at any time anyway. I may have also missed noticing some of my followers, as I did not go looking too deep in older posts and the damn slow mobile Internet connection at the moment is not helping either.

Note: I do not follow people just because they follow me, I actually like to use the Feed functionality for what it is meant to be used for... make it easy to track content from people I like reading posts from. Following me can however help you get followed back, depending on what you write about and if I like it. The people on my follow list do not get my vote for just about everything they post either!

If you have any questions or want to add something, then please feel free to do so in the comments below...

Congrats on 70 followers! I see a lot of similarities with when Twitter first started. Everyone just followed everyone so they would get a follow back -- which doesn't do anyone any good.

You should follow people if they bring you value, otherwise hold off on clicking follow. While the follow/followed ratio does play a role in "social" proof the numbers are largely irrelevant if you commit to providing genuine value and putting in the work.

I have been following everyone who made an insightful comment on my own posts, or in response to my comments on other posts, or to anyone especially that I have found in the 'new' section. I want to make connections and the connections are growing and I still am following more people than are following me, but this won't happen overnight.

WE are the product that Steem is selling. Our work, our stories, our photos and videos, our opinions, this is the product. This is unlike any other blockchain based system online at the moment. Having a product, and the curation system helps promote the best stuff higher to be more visible, is the missing ingredient in all efforts up to now. There is outside investors who are just putting in money into the system, and there is us, the creators, making something that others want to buy into, and we are all doing our darnedest to find the little nuggets that are hiding somewhere in the future.

It will be some time yet before the community and the investment in this will start to become more substantial, but already Steem is in the top 6 cryptocurrencies for capitalisation, and even we may well soon not just pip litecoin but also ripple from their positions.

This is groundbreaking stuff. Everything else in the crypto scene hasn't yet got a product, only a speculative instrument. There is many efforts to make actual products, there is stock market exchanges even now, and some of the newer systems like Dash and Ethereum are applying the understanding that redistribution of the inflationary element of newly minted coins rightly should be split between miner rewards, funding development, and creating the ability for us to invest in it. Steem goes one step further and adds a product, our work.

Thanks for the mention !

I will now go through the accounts you have tagged and check them out.
Let's connect and promote good content within our own little network.

Don't they call that a 'school' of fish ?

I still consider myself new on steemit and I'm trying to learn as I go as well as to experiment with different things. I believe I have a lot to contribute to steemit and I'm trying my best. I'm also trying to make my experience and the time spent on steemit as useful and pleasant as possible. Not only to share my knowledge and expertise, but also to gain new knowledge and learn new interesting things.
