How do you afford xmas?

Enlighten me with your ideas on how to afford Xmas?
I have became Self Employed so I am my own boss and trying all ways to make it work while mostly at home with young children.
Perhaps you make the gifts or maybe you had to work extra shifts to cover the costs.
