Leela Nag was born in Goalpara, Assam. His father Girish Chandra Nag was a retired magistrate. His father's family was one of the most cultured and educated families of Sylhet. In 1939, Lila Nag married revolutionary Amit Roy. His education started in Eden School in Dhaka. In 1921 he passed BA from Calcutta's Bethune College. She took the first place among girls and received the Padmavati gold medal in the examination . In 1921 she became an MA in English in Dhaka University. In 1923, he obtained his MA degree in Second Division. He was the first MA degree of Dhaka University. The then Vice-Chancellor of the Dhaka University, Dr. Harts, granted special permission to teach Leela Roy's merit and desire, because there was no arrangement for co-education in the environment. He was one of the top class students of the literary Kazi Motahar Hossain . He wrote about the story of Lila Nag, in the form of his memoir , "I do not see any kind of social worker and dignified women like this." Its theory is that women should also be earning, otherwise they will never get dignity for men. So he arranged for beautiful clothes on women's handkerchief, tablecloth etc. By selling all these, she gives way to a girls' income. "
He played a special role in spreading education among Bengali women. He established Armanitola Girls 'School, Kamrunnesa Girls' High School and Sher-e-Bangla Girl's College (then the Women's Education Temple) of Dhaka. After marriage, her name is SMT Lilabati Roy. After the partition of India, Leela Nag went to Calcutta and established a number of educational institutions there. Leela Roy was a leader of the freedom struggle of India. For this, he has to spend some time. He published a magazine named "Jayashree" as the mouthpiece in the women's society . Leela Roy painted pictures and knew how to play songs and sitar. During the partition of the country, he met Gandhiji in Noakhali. He founded an organization named Dipali Sangha. On June 11, 1970, the life of this noble woman came alive in India.
