International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation is a UN supported yearly consciousness day that observes on February 6 as part of the UN's struggles to eliminate female genital mutilation.

According to Wikipedia female genital mutilation also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision means; the ritual cutting or removal of some or all of the external female genitalia. The practice is found in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and within communities from countries in which FGM is common. UNICEF estimated in 2016 that 200 million women living today in 30 countries—27 African countries, Indonesia, Iraqi Kurdistan and Yemen—have undergone the procedures. For more see here

‘That fright for the month before I married changed my life. This fright was worse than the actual circumcision time, because I had so many fears… I felt nauseous all the time with anxiety.’
