Donny and the V-Man

In the shadows of the ancient temple where tribal leaders met their hung a veil. Traditional diplomacy kept the meeting leaders separated by this thin cloth. Words only could be shared.

In the negotiations before today’s meeting, Donny suggested they dispense with the veil and speak openly. The V-Man quickly agreed and subordinates were assigned to prepare political headlines to satisfy the media.

This meeting has potential. They both agreed.

Speaking man to man without the ever present pressures from the political machines at home could bring new reality into existence. Unfortunately, The Chinese were not yet prepared for such honesty. This would be private and simple.

Both men knew the corruption within their respective homelands. Solutions were in place. No foreign intervention was required by either man.

This was an opportunity for people everywhere to relax. Internal changes would be tough enough without bring threats of foreign power into the game.

In the hours before Helsinki, Donny and the V-Man slept peacefully after Donny visited the dock.
