I wrote this little scene in a five minute freewrite using themostdangerouswritingapp.com

Why Verona?

It was a beautiful city, of course. So when he had suggested a weekend trip she had leapt at the opportunity.

"Isn't it a bit soon?" Angela had said, flexing her fingers and admiring her newly painted nails in the nail bar. "I mean, you've only known him five minutes. To go away with him seems a little... I don't know... risky."

Angela didn't like Steve.

Maisie wondered if she secretly fancied him. After all she had been at the club that night when Steve had joined them at the bar and bought them both a drink. Perhaps she had hoped it was she that he fancied?

"Since when have you been such a prude?" Maisie said.

"A prude?" Angela asked, laughing. "Since when have you stepped out of a Jane Austin novel?"

Maisie didn't answer. She douted Angela had ever seen an adaption of a Jane Austin novel, let alone read one. Oh, no wait: they had both seen the one that had zombies in it...
