CHAPTER SIXTEEN
"I've called Fox and the plan is in motion now," Danny said, speaking to Jake on the phone.
"Good. Did he show too much resistance?"
"No, not too much to worry about. Just the usual initial defiance, but he soon complied."
"That's good. Keep an eye on him though. If he shows unusual hesitance or acts suspiciously, tell me. We might have to change the strategy a bit."
"I will."
"Alright then. Tell me when he sends the documentation."
"Okay," Danny said, ending the call.

Danny got up, grabbed his coat and left the apartment. It was night and the streets were quiet, with only a few people being seen walking around. Most of them were drunk, and walking back to their homes.
From his apartment, Danny drove to the other side of town, to an abandoned warehouse in an industrial area. He parked his car a few feet away from the entrance, and switched his car's engine and lights off.
A minute before midnight. They should be here any second now.
He only waited for about a minute before a car drove up the road, toward him. It flashed its headlights three times and he flashed his car's headlights three times also.
It drove nearer to Danny's car and stopped beside it. Danny rolled his window down.
"The rooster crows," Danny said.
"And the sun rises," a voice from the car said.
Then one of the passengers from the other car handed a briefcase to Danny through the car's window. Danny took the briefcase, opened it and quickly checked its contents. He nodded his head and the other car drove off.
He then started his car and drove off too. He drove to his apartment, non-stop, checking his rearview mirror frequently for any followers.
Danny arrived at his apartment, alone, and went inside with the briefcase. He placed it on the table, opened it and counted the money.
"It's all here," he whispered, smiling.
He smelled a bunch of notes.
