Wolf Warrior II - A Short Review

Okay, pick a name of kung fu idol (in the movies) of yours! Bruce Li? Jet Li? Jacky Chan? or Donnie Yen? Wait, I got a new name which has been on my top list recently; Wu Jing!. Oh, I am amazed with this man in the latest movie he did. The first minutes of the movies was catching me. It serves a intense battle under water which is actually hard to do with some choreography but he did it good. Then the rest is ... congratulations! It's a glued seat, I must say.

I actually have been missed action movie, especially mandarin movie. I love if it makes me don't wanna move anywhere else while watching, not even to the bath room. I miss that era of young Jet li fights the robbers and won the battle. I also enjoyed Jacky Chan martial art eventhough he always fails to have a serious face which I always get from Keanu Reeves (irrelevants :D). I know that age has gone because in real life they're aging as well. I do not think to enjoy that much anymore since those senior actors slowly move to slow drama story. Why Mandarin movie? it's pretty clear that since long Chinese actor must be a complete package of a martial artist yet actor. So I enjoyed every move they have without busy thinking it's a trick or a stunt (even though they did but I tend to believe it's real :D).

Wolf Warrior II

The film was about an ex China special forces that looking for his wife murderer with the bullet that shot his wife as the clue. Leng Feng (Wu Jing) portrays a heroic icon that defends for humanity in some Africa war zone. He wander to Africa and get himself as a shipping man. While doing his job he get himself in middle of shooting from the rebellion troops. He tried to rescue the people around him and then the story begins.

Wu Jing did it so good as the lead actor yet the director. I don't know I could enjoy the mandarin movie this way again. Although the story is a little cliche which I believe in real life this kind of man is nowhere to find these days but I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed the fighting scene. A little romance completes the story well. The effect was quite good and it's a successfully entertaining action movie.

The story is kind of promote how dreadful the situation of Africa war zone. War can be the worst thing that a nation can dare to dream because there are always be civilians as the victims. In Africa war is not the only matter, epidemic of a disease and hunger are other worse issue. A lot of things happens during war, murdering is an easy thing. The film also tries to bring up about some political issues.

Anyway, this movie has brought up much bucks as it placed in the fiftieth box office list in its first two week around the world. It is the most highest reach from China movie ever. I guess Mandarin movie will awake more by now. Film makers and film industries are competing each other. Maybe we will see a day where Hollywood is not the only lead role for its film.
