I'm not going to spend too much time describing this film. I'm just gonna recommend it.
If Hollywood wants to get more butts in seats, it's movies like this that'll get them back there.
Yeah, it's okay to not spit on middle America. Yes, it's okay to have a will they/won't they, heterosexual, romantic subplot. It's okay to not shove Al Gore's proverbial dick down the audience's throats in order to make a man vs. nature film.
It's okay to throw a good budget at competent people who take their jobs as entertainers seriously, and create entertainment.
If more movies like this were reliably coming out, I would be at the movies several times a week. I wouldn't be scraping around for independent films, or the next movie that's supposed to reinvent the wheel.
This is what the films of the 90s got right that so many of us have forgotten.
