I am always curious about the mindset of great leaders. They have a way of thinking that is completely beyond our greatest imaginations. “Invictus” is a film that is based on the story of Nelson Mandela. After watching this film I really fell in love with him. I even read his autobiography “Long walk to freedom” to gain more knowledge about him. “Invictus” is a story of how a game can make a country united.
The South African rugby team Springboks will playing against England and during this Nelson Mandela gets his eureka movement. He notices that the South African people are actually cheering for England than supporting their own country. Because of the discrimination. Mandela comes up with a plan to unite everyone living in South Africa both black and white, the only way to do it is that Springboks should win the upcoming World Cup. This is the basic plot of the movie.
We can see here without the use of superiority, how Mandela inspired millions of people across South Africa to come together. This is the power of a greateader, without the help of money or people the ability to inspire millions of people is true leadership.
The movie was made in tk and was directed by the legendary Clint Eastwood. Eastwoods direction takes the film to a new levels. The only way to unite a country is that country should win every single time. This will put a lot of weight on tk the captain of Springbok. This is the philosophy that Mandela believed that became history's greatest example of leadership.
Movies like this helps us all grow as a human being and also shows us the value of being a human. There are leaders in each and every one of us. The ones that get noted are just the people who did what they thought. This small difference between a leader and an average human being is the thing that creates shifts in the human history. Ideas can be very simple, but it's the simple ideas that brings the change than the complex ones.
I highly recommend this film to anyone and everyone. This documents the rise of Mandela’s presidency in South Africa and the criticism that came with it. A sports and political spectacle. Thank you for reading this post. For more posts and reviews on movies follow me.
