Behind the scenes: Commercial shot in Cape Town

in filmlife •  7 years ago  (edited)

When the South East wind blows in Cape Town, you know all about it!
You want so badly to be indoors (unless you are a kite surfer) out of the sand and dust, in the comfort of your home.

Some of us however, have to work in these conditions as times. When you work in the film industry, and a typical day is costing production around US$20 000-00, a little wind is not going to stop filming.

The day I shot this clip, the wind was gusting at easily 90-110km/h. And as you can see, the performers as well as the crew were having a hell of a time pretending all was okay.

But at the end of the day, we got the shots we needed, the client went home content and the crew and actors left the set with huge smiles on our faces...
