Important Note:
I failed to take a good shot of the photos. π
I really can't remember when I started saving money WHOLE-HEARTEDLY.
A year and 2 months ago, I got an opportunity to work as a real estate agent and was blessed to close a number of deals. That made me feel a little secured financially (through my commissions).
Sadly, I have a bad habit when it comes to money. I am an impulsive buyer! Little by little, I realize that I must save at least a few amount of money as my emergency fund.
So, a couple of weeks or almost a month ago, I started saving my Php10, 5, .25, .10, and .05 coins. At first, my plan was to save only the centavo coins because I would be needing the 10 and 5 peso coins for travel fares. But then, I decided that all 10 and 5 peso coins that will be left in my purse would be saved. (I am currently self-employed, working as a private ESL teacher.)
Last Friday (Philippine Time), I ran out of cash and actually on a tight budget. I decided to take out all the coins from my coin bank and deposited it to my bank account. I was able to save around Php600, not bad at all.
Now, this will be a habit. I'm going to save all the coins upto the next month and deposit it to my bank account. (I keep all my 1 peso coins in my purse for paying an exact fare every time I travel.)
P.S.

Indeed! Funny that some people no longer save every penny. A penny is still a penny... It still has its value. π
