My recommendations for alt media

I started my little journey of finding truth when my wife became pregnant with our first child. I have always been a little pessimistic and had a healthy amount of skepticism for government and other regulatory agencies. This was mainly obtained from my father who was a business man and politician on a local level, but did both by his rules not the systems (this eventually hurt him in the end, but gave me a greater respect for the man). I will go into further detail on all that in a later post.

I walked into a bookstore (one of the big ones) when my wife was 3-4 months pregnant. As I was wandering near the front a noticed the best sellers stand. On this stand was a novel called "Patriots". A man in full military gear stands front and center with a large city burning in the background. The sub title reads "a novel of survival in the coming collapse". BINGO! I had finally found what I was looking for but up until this point could not describe. This novel brought me into the world of James Wesley Rawles.

James Wesley Rawles- If you think the world is going to hell in the near future and you plan on staying in the United States, this is your guy. Among the Patriots novel is several other novels of the same series that are amazing reads and very educational. The series reads as fiction novels while providing detailed instructions on how to safe guard and prepare you, your friends and family for events that could come in the near future. SURVIVALBLOG.com is the largest survival website to date. Started by Rawles in 2005? I believe. Everything is free with thousands of archived articles on basically everything from homesteading, backpacking in the woods, to firearms/water purification, etc. Mr. Rawles also has several non-fiction books such as "Tools for Survival" that are important to have in your small home library. Go to survivalblog.com or put his name into amazon.com to find all of his work.

So I read the book, now what. Well I decided I needed to get the heck out of Florida (which I already knew). My wife was up for relocating anywhere so I went to work. I came across Strategic Relocation by Joul Skousen. This is a very researched and detailed book. This book ranks all 50 states and Canada, as well as the best and worst areas of each state to weather a natural disaster, nuclear strike, economic chaos, etc. It has pollution ratings for ground water and air. societal and religious views of communities, gun laws and taxes are all detailed as well. Joel Skousen has a website with some free content as well as a subscription service.

While I was working on taking care of a newborn and trying to find out where I wanted to relocate, I started exploring the economic side of the alternative media space. Without going into to much detail, my journey has led me to the following list of people/channels.

The most important "Life Planning" book that I have found is "Prosper" by Chris Martenson. If you need to learn how modern economics/finance work in an easy to understand format then look up Chris Martenson's youtube videos and read the material on his site. The next step is to purchase the book "Prosper". This is a fantastic, life changing book that will transform the way you think about virtually all aspects of your current situation and how you want to plan for the future.

Economics/Investing:

Jeff Berwick (Thedollarvigilante.com). If you are looking to move outside of the US or interested in the crypto-currency space then Jeff is your guy,"V" the guerrilla economist (roguemoney.net), Doug Casey (caseyresearch.com), Marin Katusa (Katusaresearch.com), Jim Willie (www.goldenjackass.com), Andy Hoffman, Chris Martenson (Peakprosperty.com), David Morgan (themorganreport.com), Craig hemke, CrushTheStreet youtube channel.

True Alt Media channels:

The X22Report.com (x22report on youtube), Bix Weir (roadtoroota.com), , SGT report on youtube, www.thelibertymill.com, Zerohedge.com, SHTFplan.com, Greg Hunter (USAwatchdog youtube channel). Of course InfoWars.com, some people hate Alex Jones, some love him. His approach is aggressive but he tends to be dead on with most of his analysis.

Survival/Preparedness:

James Wesley Rawles (survivalblog.com) (survivalrealty.com) , Bob Griswold (readymaderesources.com), CanadianPrepper (youtube), Hossusmc (youtube), Maineprepper (youtube) channel is no longer active but his old videos are still up.

Reid Henrichs (youtube) founder of Valor Ridge in Tennessee. Patriot Nurse (has classes all over the US teaching all things medical). Shes also runs a good youtube channel.

Note: I will be editing this post because I am sure some resources were forgotten.

Your story is almost exactly like mine. Literally read/listen to all of those on your list except 3-4. I've even became a paid lifetime subscriber to Marin, Casey, and Curzio. Great guys who make it make this space entertaining and informative.
Thank you.
