The dangers of methyl tren

in fitness •  3 years ago

Recently a friend of mine started taking a very common and easy to find steroid called Trenbolone which is otherwise known as "methyl tren." Despite the fact that this drug is illegal it was exceptionally easy to get. He told me he simply ordered it online and he didn't do it in a covert way, he just used his credit card. How this is possible is not what is important to me, but I know that I would be worried about all of this being a trick on the part of the police or that it would be a bogus product.

Well so far anyway it doesn't appear as though either of these things is the case and my friend has now done a full 3-week cycle of using the tablets.

Now I am not going to lie, the dude is seeing great and almost immediate gains in both his strength and appearance and therefore it is easy for me to understand how someone could get addicted to this process and product. It is definitely a shortcut to getting cut, and he is proof of that. He asked me to not use his name of pictures for obvious legal reasons, so you'll just have to trust me that I am speaking about a real situation here.

He has seen gains, he is happy with the gains and he also plans to continue using for at least another 2 cycles. My guess would be that he continues far beyond that unfortunately because what I have heard is once you go down this path it is difficult to go back because your body starts to "need" it in order for the gains to continue or even to maintain the gains you have already accomplished.

He looks great but by his own admission there are quite a few downsides, which I will explain here.

Strange muscle spasms

Again, none of these images are actually of my friend, so don't go trying to report some poor guy in a stock image to the police for PED use.

He gets intense muscle spasms and cramps frequently and oddly, this almost always happens when he is not lifting. It happens when he is just hanging out in his house and doing normal day to day stuff like getting up from a chair, yawning, or one time he said it was just from putting on his shoes. Something triggers and then he gets a really intense cramp mostly in his neck, back, or stomach and says that it is really painful and there is nothing he can do but wait for it to pass.

constant fatigue

One would presume that something like steroids would make you super energetic but he has informed me that the opposite is the case. Unless he is in the gym and actively working out, he says that he spends most of the day completely exhausted to the point where just getting normal every day things done like going shopping seem like a massive chore.

He feels more power in the gym but outside of it he has told me that it is much more difficult to get motivated to do just about anything. He has also indicated that any sort of cardio has taken a massive hit and jogging and cycling is much more difficult than it used to be

decreased libido

This is one that he doesn't want to talk about a great deal because of the obvious very private nature of it but we have all heard the story about how people on roids can't get "it" up. While he hasn't said this to me specifically, he has indicated that he has very little interest in even pursuing the opposite sex or even looking at pictures of naked ladies on the internet. Basically, he has no sex drive anymore.

Tren cough

Of all the things I have mentioned so far I was at least somewhat aware of their existence as a side effect of juicing. One that I did not know about was "Tren cough." My friend has told me that he has coughing fits frequently, mostly in the morning where he has to clear his lungs out from a buildup of mucus that is there.

Sometimes the coughing fits trigger the aforementioned muscle spasms as well, so this is a double whammy in my book.

He said this started on about day 2 of taking the tablets and has not gone away ever since. From what I have read this is because the steroid contains something that your body knows shouldn't be there and converts this into something that ends up in the lungs and this is how your body gets rid of it. This on its own would be enough for me to not be on the sauce, but it hasn't deterred my friend.

So while he is very happy with his lift gains and overall mass gain - which is good mass by the way. I'm not gonna lie, the dude looks great. However, this better look of his is coming along with a lot of bad stuff as well and this is before we even get into the potential long-term affects on his liver and kidneys that I have read about.

For me it isn't worth it and I certainly hope for my friend's sake that this is something that he can figure out on his own that it isn't a good idea. I fear that this will become something that is a permanent part of his life or even worse, something that he has to up the dosage of perpetually in order to continue to get the gains he wants.

For me it isn't worth it but after seeing this guy's transformation after mere weeks of being on the stuff, I can totally understand why it is that people get addicted to this. I'll stick to being smaller and not take the risks because I don't think the tradeoff is worth it.

From athlete in my 20's to fat-ass in my 30's, to the strongest I have ever been in my life in my 40's. I didn't use any PED to accomplish this and don't believe I ever will do so. You have to make that choice for yourself though and I am not going to try to tell my friend how to live his life even though I think it is a bad move
