Pallara parkrun is ready to go!

For regular followers of my blog you may recall I have been setting up a community parkrun at nearby suburb, Pallara. We ran our 2nd trial today and everything went swimmingly. Or perhaps I should say runningly?

We had a nice turn out of 20-30 people which was easy to manage today. I rode around on my bike making sure everyone knew where they were going.

It's a nice course with a mix of concrete, trail & grass. The feature of the run is the bridge, although it might be a little narrow if we have lots of runners at an event.

Whilst I was a bit anxious previously, I was really happy with how everything came together today. I'm still not sure where I'm going to get my future volunteers from, but I have faith that they will come. Parkrun is an institution in South-East Queensland now! And we have a great course, with some different elements to the parkruns nearby. I'm sure it will become a great event for the community for years to come.
