How to make the most of your workout and maximize gains that you can get out of this type of training. A routine has helped me a lot over time. It helps keep me focused, knowing what I need to do on a weekly basis. My workouts are mostly split into two parts. First thing’s first week of each month, I usually have a strength, core or cardio workout. This is one of my favorite routines. Then just before starting another one, my body gets enough energy for it, so now I go from there to work out again. There are a few benefits aside from being able to stick with this type of routine. Once I find my rhythm and I enjoy myself, then I have no problem sticking with it. When I was trying to figure out what worked best for me, I found a ton of things. I like how many types of workouts I can be doing at once, how many different exercises I can exercise, how easy I have to follow directions, etc. However, if I like what I am doing, it doesn’t matter what sort of workouts I am doing. So let's get right into the nitty gritty, how to master these different exercises.
My top three favorites are: Pushups, Jumping Jacks and Bodyweight Exercises. They have not changed over time, except maybe going to an extra pushup every now and again if I know it will help my form and speed up some of my movements. These kinds of workouts always get more intense since they are a bit harder and harder. But when I am in the mood for something super intense it allows my body to recover and give me time to think of all those little mistakes I didn't think about throughout the whole workout. That way I’m not too hard on myself throughout the day and I don't worry about making any silly errors. Now, with the jump jacks, I would say it is only because I get bored and am looking for fun. I'm pretty much doing jumping jacks at least 50% on the days I go in to the gym. Yes, sometimes I'll put down a jump jack and watch a movie, but, I haven't been in that long for anything serious or I have more than that in mind. Either way there are only a couple of times where I truly want to finish just jump jacking without doing it properly on time. And even if someone says to jump jack, I wouldn’t really like it. I'd rather try and try jump squats so I can see how good a squat can feel and try to pull myself back up and do them correctly. Not saying that it isn't worth going to the gym for. In fact, I would probably stay at home if I didn't like feeling all the time and being out of shape and having a full stomach and all. But in order to accomplish these goals I have to stick with my workouts, which then allows me to focus on the other things like the rest of my life.
Last but not least, I cannot forget bodyweight resistance training. Although it sounds very heavy, it actually isn't that bad. I'll use my lighter weights and then add weight during the middle of it, which will help make sure my muscles actually become stronger and more toned out. Bodyweight training also works really well for the heart and lungs. No amount of weights we can gain can give us anything but an overall better respiratory system. Even though this kind of routine is really demanding because for sure it’s gonna end as soon as it starts, it doesn't hurt. Just remember to do your best and have fun, because this is what we're here to do. I promise! Until next time! Don't forget to check in on me for more updates!
