Great post, losing weight is not as hard as people think. It will take will power and you need to stop thinking about dieting and think about a eating habit change. Diet is something someone does to drop some weight for the summer, or to fit into an outfit for a special occasion. If you are overweight, you need to look at your lifestyle and make a change (if you want to lose weight) Stop focusing on these fad diets, you may lose some weight in the short term, but will put it all back on in the end.
I used to weigh over 315 lbs, over 42%bf. After changing my eating habit and introducing exercise into my diet, I was able to get down to 11% bf and around 170 lbs. My eating habits definitely have adjusted since to my current lifestyle of lifting heavy in the gym and trying to pack on muscle. Being 6'4 170 was under weight. After a lot of hard work I was able to pack on muscle and get up to 210.
The point of my res ponce is to say anyone can do it, I was definitely a nay say'er and blamed genetics. Although they do play a role, you are not a slave to it. Well at least most are not, some do have some hardcore medical issues. I would say the majority don't and just make excuses.
Cheers,
