Are Males De Facto Sexual Predators?

In these challenging times for us men, times of compulsory introspection with possible painful admissions, multiple times published author @yahialababidi asks a challenging question: "Does a sexual beast lurk in the breast of most men?"

To step outside the US, for a moment, to my other home, Egypt, I must ask myself: How did we (as Egyptians) go from allowing men in ancient times to take time off of work to care for menstruating daughters and wives, to modern Cairo being named the most dangerous megacity for women, just last month? Admittedly, this devolution took place in the space of a several millennia, and an unholy mix of insecurity, patriarchy, failed politics and volatile religiosity are to blame for our current predicament. Yet, corruption aside, Egypt is quite different from, say, India where modern-day matriarchies do exist alongside an alarming rape crisis.

So, where did it all go wrong? Were men always latent monsters at heart? An ancient Greek tragedist, Sophocles seems to think so - likening the male sex drive to being 'chained to a lunatic.' One way of taming this beast, we're learning, is to say enough is enough, which seems to be finally happening at this cultural moment - an overdue time of reckoning. The rules of the jungle are changing, and the line between aggressive, unwanted flirtation and sexual harassment obliterated.

I'm very big on this fight for gender equality, gender parity. In my ideal dream world gender will not be a topic whatsoever anymore, not beyond the purely physical (and thus medical) aspect at least. This is a fight which needs to be fought, if ever you fight only one fight let it be the one for gender equality.

But don't go full Female Terminator mode out of vengeance. Always remember that what may have been ethically exemplary some years ago can now be a reason to be fired.

I don't approve of the "it's cultural/in my culture its' ok/it's genetics" argument. It's BS, we are one of the smartest species thanks to our ability to learn. Let's show that indeed we are smarter than the dolphins. Because, at many a time, I'm not convinced they aren't the better species.

Yahia's post is an excellent read because he, as a Muslim immigrant in the USA, can bring another perspective to things. Especially, being Egyptian, a nation which long time ago was one of the best places for women to be.

Here I mostly tumbl (resteem with added commentary and attitude or snark, a form of advanced curation Steem doesn't offer), zapp, post to forums, and submit other miscellaneous mischief. The latter which may or may not include more personal content.

There may be days it can be noisy around here, follow at your own risk. Alternatively, follow my attempts at more in-depth own content on my main account, @FknMayhem.

I am also on zeh Titter.

Feminism would have you believe men are dangerous

There are quite a bunch of alpha feminists who IMHO approach the fight wrongly by means of hostility. Somehow they seem to think that pissing off a man is good an outcome, rather than what it actually is: an opportunity missed.

If anything, all they achieve is to breed more hostility and they also give the manosphere a raison d'être.

It's not radical or alpha feminists, it's just what the feminist ideology causes in the long run. If you believe men keep women down to stay on top or ahead, which is the fundamental of all waves of feminism which they call patriarchy, then you will inevitable grow into resent and that can easily turn into anger and hate. Doesn't matter how much feminists say it's just about equality, it's not.

Alright then, if you say so.

No

The real question you should ask is:-

Are people in powerful places De Facto Sexual Predators

Its not just men, women are just as bad yet you have not chosen to put up photos or write about what they have done.

Because this post is about Yahia's post. Not about whether women also make errors.

Who ever owns the post makes no difference, the article here on steem in front of me is pointing blame at all men based on a small cross section of a few sick perverted people in power who think they can get away with anything.

is pointing blame at all men

If you say so. Luckily there's no thing such as catcallers on construction yards and the likes. Nope, that's just a unicorn.
