How Flixxo could attract the big fish?
This is just one man’s opinion trying to foresee the future. Please do your own research and always formulate individual and educated opinions. This should not be regarded as any investment advice. I do not work for Flixxo.
Flixxo is a decentralized video file sharing marketplace where advertisers pay watches who then pay content creators for high quality videos. Content creators pay back proceeds to users who help seed their files. Created by the founder of Popcorn Time. If you want a more detailed description please read my previous blog where I go in depth. For this article I will be talking about how the progression of Flixxo could work.
For this to really take over Netflix, big fish aka major content creators will need there to be traction. There needs to be enough participants before they recognize the opportunity. This may seem dauting at first glance, but a close look at how the adoption process will start shows some serious promise.
The key is extra revenue. If there is revenue to be earned then why wouldn’t someone post their article? (Why do I post this is on Steemit rather then just Medium?) This is key to the early adopters. Youtubers, small video production company’s, individuals with a camera, are all looking for extra income. They currently get paid from advertisers on youtube, based of their total views. Well a youtuber could also post their material on their personal website, if they get enough traffic then they can sell ads. The same content can be posted in multiple platforms to generate multiple avenues of revenue, from a single video.
It is free to post on Flixxo, so its simply another avenue for potential revenue. The same video they already posted on youtube and their website can be hosted on Flixxo. But how much they will earn is dependent on their ability to attract watches.
So, the next question is, why would watchers choose Flixxo over youtube? Simple, they get paid to watch ads. If you can get paid for something you’re already doing (watching ads on every other youtube video), then adoption is a no brainer.
Now you have small time content creators and watchers wanting to be part of this system. Next comes the advertisers, and they will ALWAYS follow the traffic.
Each river needs a start, weather that is glacier melt or a natural spring. The beginning is the determining factor. This additional revenue for content creators and watchers is the “spring” from which the stream of adoption starts. Each Flixx earned and spent is momentum. As spring water flows downhill it is joined by others (more creators, watchers, and ads) growing from a creek to a stream to a river. The bigger the river, the bigger the fish who swim in.
