Hi guys, I got to try out my new wet saw, and it is awesome! I started cutting the corners of the porcelain tile for the 4x4 hand painted Mexican tiles.
This is a picture of the slivers I had to cut off a couple of tiles in the first row......... I just know I can find some place to use these, I really hate to toss out any cuts and these are nice precise thin cuts!
I just know @silvertop is going to get his hand slapped again........... I know..... I know..... I took off the guard, I really can't do precise cuts with it installed, but I am paying the price of taking off the guard it spits water back at me!
Always wear eye protection and hearing protection! :)
This is the second row being cut and dry laid in place. I discovered I have two brands of 1/4 inch tile spacers and there is a difference in the width between the two-this is another good reason to dry lay out the tiles before it is permanent.
So the plan is after dry laying the second row to thin-set mortar that row into place. I will have five rows deep, so after row two, I will dry lay the complete layout with spacers and snap a chalk line and then install the balance of the 1/4 inch cement board.
I am really enjoying this project, I hope you are enjoying this post!!! @silvertop
I am glad that your project is going well and it is cool that you have a tile cutter too for that. @silvertop
