"A PINK MYSTERY" ~ © Tiffany E. Reed

in flowers •  7 years ago

My parents have always had azalea shrubs in their yard, and these bushes put on a gorgeous display of color when they bloom in the spring, usually in April. Each bush produces blooms of a single color: some are pink, some red, some white, some fuchsia, some orange, but they are all pretty. And they have bloomed EVERY year, as far back as anyone remembers.

Until this year...

My father passed-away in the spring, right before the azaleas usually bloom. And, for the first time ever, there wasn't a single bloom on ANY of the bushes in their yard. None. Nada. NO BLOOMS.

Fast-forward to a December day when it is turning colder and winter is beginning to settle into this area. Three days before our first snow this past weekend, one of the azalea bushes bloomed — just two little pale-pink flowers on the whole bush... but it bloomed.

I can't explain it.

That is strange, and for such a beautiful flower. You know this happened to my uncle and my grandmothers peony, it bloomed every year she was alive and the year she died, which was in May, it did not bloom, until this past year. It was an heirloom peony, that has been established for years and years. Strange indeed. Thank you for sharing.

Wow, so you had the exact same thing happen! Thank you for sharing that with me!
I so love peonies, too! 😊

When we lose our loved ones what we remain with are the memories. Maybe this is the nature's way reminding you that your dad will always be with you. Also I read somewhere that plants too have like emotional reactions. I don't know how true that is however.

Thank you so much for this lovely comment! 😊

This is GORGEOUS! How beautiful. Mysterious timing too, which makes it even more interesting. :)

Condolesens for your father, but I would like to think it's your father watching over you. Him letting you know everything is ok and will be ok.

That is nature, sometimes the weather delays many plants from blossom

Thank you for taking time to read and comment! 😊

Nature feels its surrounding, when it blooms, summer is coming, so is happiness

Thank you, dear Reena! 😊

Yes, plants too have feelings. Apparently your flowers mourned for your father. No wonder gardeners are always talking to their flowers, and they grow better. The gardeners claim that the flowers are capable of communicating. In any case, I think that's a good sign - your flower bloomed, so everything will be fine. Life goes on.

Thank you so much, sweetie! 😊

Maybe the Azalea weren't ready, too.
They needed time to process as well?

Who knows, truly.

Yes, who knows?!?!? Thank you, my friend! 😊

Papa saying hello from the next dimension

That was my first thought, too. 😊
