In my country “the empanada" is a very traditional food, you can get it in any house and food establishment. Venezuela is a multicultural country and this dish is inherited from the Spanish settlers. In Latin America you can get a great variety of this food, but the one that is presented today is venezuelan.
The empanada is a dough folded with filling, you can use all kinds of filling, that's up to your imagination. Here in Venezuela are very famous the ones of cheese, ground meat, shredded meat, dogfish, pavilion: this one contains shredded meat, black beans, sliced (fried plantain), rice and cheese.

Ingredients:
For the mass:
- Water
- Precooked corn flour
- Wheat flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3 tbsp. Sugar
For the filling:
In this case: grated cheese and ground beef.
Preparation:
Start by dissolving the salt and sugar in the water, then gradually add the flours to form a smooth and uniform dough. With the mass small balls are formed which we will crush with the table (which will be previously covered by a plastic bag) taking care that it is even, not too thin to take care that the filling breaks the dough.
The filling is then placed in the center of the extended dough.
Subsequently a part of the plastic is lifted and the mass is folded making a semicircle, with a deep dish they are cut and the borders are closed.
And finally, fry in abundant oil over medium heat.
Now enjoy a rich empanadas of cheese and ground beef.
