Cooking At Home: Rib-eye Steak

Hello all.

Rib-eye is considered to be one of the better cuts of meat and it is also not as sensitive as for example fillet mignon, so it doesn't require a high level of skill or experience to be cooked to perfection. Here I would like to show you how you can cook a succulent rib-eye beef steak.

Ingredients:

Rib-eye beef steak, 450g

1 teaspoon of canola oil

5-6 thyme sprigs

2 cloves of garlic

2 tablespoons of butter

Salt

Pepper

Preferably use a wide flat-bottom pan or skillet. Place an empty skillet in the oven. Preheat the oven to 220C. Oil the steak on both sides and add salt and pepper. Remove the hot skillet from the oven when it heats up and put it on the stove. Place the steak into the skillet and cook on medium heat for two minutes. Turn the steak, add garlic and thyme, and return to oven for six to seven minutes. Remove again from the oven and return to the stove-top for another minute or two, while continuously covering it with butter, garlic, and thyme. Flip the steak again.

Watch the steak until it is cooked as you prefer. Your rib-eye steak should now be ready to be served. You can serve it medium rare or well done depending on your taste. Bon appetit!
