Ashgourd is a local vegetable of Bengal. It majorly tastes like bottle gourd but have a distinct taste. I have learnt this recipe from my mother in law. Usually ashgourd is not a very tasty veggie, but when you stuff it with coconut mustard paste it ought to be delicious. This simple recipe is a good compliment to plain dal-bhaat. You can try it in any season as all the ingredients are easily available throughout the year.
Ingredients Of Petuk-Chaal Kumro:
Ashgourd/Winter melon-200gm
Mustard oil-10gm
Rice flour-20gm
Salt-5 gm
Sugar-5 gm
Green chillies-5gm
Coconut-20gm
White mustard seed-5gm
Black mustard seed-5gm
Water-100gm
Cilantro-5 gm
