HEALTHY ALMOND OAT BARS

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today I will present to you my favourite breakfast oat bars. They are delicious, nutty and perfect start of the day. And what is best, they last in the fridge for a whole week! I allways prepare them, when I start working at 6 a.m. and I’m sooo sleepy that I hardly make coffee in the morning. Just make them in the evening and grab them in the morning. Oat bars are also good nutritious breakfast which will keep you full till the next meal. I found this bars on Jamie Oliver site (made by susan Jane)-btw I love Jamie! I think his recipes combine healthy with a lot of flavour!

Soo…this bars are so easy to make. I will guide you step-by-step.

Ingredients:

  • 200g rolled oats
  • 100g ground almonds
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 100g pitted dates
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil
  • 5 tablespoons coconut syrup (you can also use honey or other sweetener)
  • pinch of salt
  • teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of freashly grated nutmeg

First you preheat the oven to 170 Celsius / 340 Fahrenheit.

Then you melt the coconut oil and syrup in the saucepan, just for 2 minutes

Add pitted dates, mashed banana and spices and combine in a big bowl

Then add the oats and ground almonds and mix well!

Scrape the mixture in pre-lined tin and bake for 30 minutes till lightly golden.

You can cool them in a fridge and then cut them to pieces.

I hope you will enjoy them! Bon apetit or in my language "Dober tek"!
