Chocoloate Chip Pumpkin Squares Recipe - Thumbs Up Thursday by A Panama Mama

in food •  7 years ago

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Squares were what we had for breakfast this morning! They are so tasty and super easy to whip up. I made them last night before heading to bed and they were ready this morning. They make a great snack, dessert and breakfast. I used the pumpkin puree that I posted about last night and made yesterday.

This recipe is from There's No Place Like Home:

2 1/4 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 beaten eggs
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. canned pumpkin
1 - 2 c. (dark) chocolate chips

Spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with cooking spray, or butter. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift together dry ingredients. In another bowl cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, beating well; add pumpkin filling and mix. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and blend. Add 1 cup chocolate chips & mix together. Spread into prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes.

Sometimes when it comes out of the oven I sprinkle another cup of chocolate chips over the top, let them melt and spread like frosting ~ very yummy and extra chocolatey!

I cut the recipe in half and it made 12 squares, which is plenty for our family for two breakfasts. I hope that you will try this recipe. It is so yummy and easy to make! It is a great fall or Thanksgiving food!

It is! You should give it a try.

I may have to give this a try. Maybe for Christmas. I think I may be pumpkined out after the cheesecake.

Lol. Sounds tasty, but I understand! Yeah, it is tasty. We make it throughout the year when we have pumpkin available. :)

It is. Very tasty. Give it a try! :)

Oh, that looks delicious. My wife and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner in bed today while the children stayed with the family gathering. My wife is recovering.... https://steemit.com/gratefulvibes/@ironshield/grateful-vibes-32-i-m-grateful-to-god-for-a-baby-boy

@ironshield

Exciting! I know your Thanksgiving meal (in bed) was extra tasty tonight! Congrats!!! :)

Although I am a little skeptical of the pumpkin and chocolate combo, but I do think it is worth trying. Looks scrumptious!

I know, it doesn't sound too tasty, but it really is good! :) Cut the recipe in half to give it a try. It's good though! :)

Detailed presentation @apanamamama

Thanks

This seems a perfect recipe for Fika next week at my work. I will surely give it a try. Thanks for the share
