Dear steemer:
Few people have enough knowledge about washing dishes and tend to make blunders, with waste and food waste. Due to lack of knowledge, substances and materials that cause great problems in the pipes are often thrown into the drain. These are errors that could easily be avoided, by knowing what can be passed through the dishwasher.
Among the main products that definitely should not be thrown by the pipes are the following:
OILS
Greasy agents are extremely damaging to the drain. This includes any type of cooking oil, dressings, mayonnaise, butter, margarine and animal fats. These can be mixed with other waste and generate a kind of mud, or can also coagulate and create a barrier that prevents the passage of water.
EGGSHELLS
It's a lousy habit to break the eggs and let the peels shatter in the dishwasher. It is best to throw them away immediately in the trash basket, but there are disorganized cooks who let them go through the pipeline. In this way, the small pieces of shell form a strong obstruction that even the waste disposer will not be able to avoid.
COFFEE
The erasure of coffee is lethal for this particular case. When disposing of the ground coffee used, it is essential to do it in the trash basket. The reason is that by not being soluble in water it can be stranded when combined with fats and impede the flow of liquids.
PASTA AND RICE
In itself, throwing pasta or rice is badly done (better give it to the animals on the street) and more if done in the sink. These can get stuck, by continuing to absorb water as if they were still in the cooking process.
FLOUR
If the water is combined with the flour inside the tubes, the same will be obtained as in a blender or any other container: a sticky mass that is difficult to undo.
Now that you know this, there are no excuses to let the dishwasher collapse again.
