Babka ziemniaczana (type of potato cake) is a dish from Belarus, but very popular in north-east Poland.
It's made from raw potatoes, mixed with freshly fried bacon, flavored spicy and baked in oven to golden brown.
Fun fact: For more than a dozen years in Supraśl, the World Cup in baking potato cake is held every year.
I really encourage you to try it :)
Ingredients:
1.5 kg of potatoes
200 g of meat (bacon, sausage)
2 medium onions
3 eggs
2 spoons of potato flour
marjoram
Salt, pepper, sweet red pepper, nutmeg
Bacon and sausage chop and fry in the pan, then add the crushed and chopped onion and fry until the onion is soft.
Leave to cool. Peel the potatoes, drain from the water and rub on the grater. Potato pulp should be drained from water.
Then add eggs, flour, spices and fried bacon with onion. Mix it very well and put the pulp into a mold lined with baking paper.
Bake in in the oven warmed up to 170-180 ° C for about 1.5 hours.
Bon appetit!
Very good food, I remember eating it at my grandma's for dinner
