A Midnight snack for all.

Good morning guys, ok it's not actually morning yet but I woke up early, and whenever I wake up early I get hungry a lot. So let's go for a breakfast snack.

Today I prepared some Poha .

INGREDIENTS

1 cup flattened Rice or Poha
Chopped potato
Finely chopped onion
Green peas
Coriander leaves
Oil
Lemon juice
Chillies
Salt
Turmeric powder
Mustard seeds
Diced tomatoes

PREPARATION

  1. First of all soak and thoroughly wash the Poha with water and let it rest for a while.
  2. Meanwhile add two tbsp of oil in a frying pan and add some mustard seeds to it.
  3. Once the mustard seeds start to crack add some green chillies and diced tomatoes in the pan.
  4. Stir them up for a while and add some chopped onions to it.
  5. Stir fry all the ingredients together for sometime.
  6. Add some salt according to taste and add some water. Simmer on low heat for the potatoes to cook.
  7. Add some green peas in the mix and stir them.Let it cook for few minutes.
  8. Meanwhile season your Poha with turmeric powder and salt.
  9. Check the pan and see if the potato are cooked.
  10. Add the Poha in the pan and mix them well.
  11. Add some coriander leaves to the mix and let it cook for about 5 minutes under low flame.
  12. Squeeze in some lime juice and serve it hot.
  13. Garnish the platter with whatever preference you have.

PS : I found a packet of Maggi masala on the kitchen shelf and added it to the mix. It turned out quite good.
You can also add Carrots broccoli and many other veggies in this, unfortunately I didn't have them in the kitchen tonight.
