Hello!
Continuing the casseroles theme. Today we have a French classics — delicious and tender Gratin Dauphinois.
Difficulty: 3/10
Cooking time: 45 min.
Number of servings: 3-4
Ingredients:
- Potatoes, 500 gr.
- Milk, 200 ml
- Cream 33%, 100 ml
- Cheese, 70 gr.
- Garlic, 3 cloves
- Nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper
- Salt
Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Peel potatoes and cut into thin slices 2-3 mm thick. After cutting the potatoes are not washed to leave the starch.
In a suitable pan, bring milk and cream to a boil over medium heat.
Put the potatoes, nutmeg, pepper, salt and cook for ten minutes on low heat.
Grate cheese on a fine grater and cut into medium-sized pieces of garlic.
Add cheese and garlic to the pan and mix gently.
Pour everything into a baking dish and send in the oven for half an hour.
Test the readiness with a knife — it should go in the gratin in butter, but still with a teeny resistance.
Serve.
Bon appetit!
