I am not sure where we went wrong; but with more and more chronic disease on the rise and less and less wholesome food being eaten; we are at a crossroads between being healthy and free and imprisoned by illness.

Many people find that keeping health is simple. If we do the things our mind and body require we keep our health; yet, where has this simple wisdom gone?

It has been said that 85% of health begins with our thoughts. That makes sense to me when I think about the devastating effects worry, stress and anxiety have on immune function

My mother was a wise woman. She taught us girls simple tools about nourishment and that good health begins in the home, most notably in the kitchen. It has long become my passion to learn and share the simple wisdom of the old wives.

Pantry audit...get rid of it! Get rid of any processed food products! We can no longer afford to have the added junk in our pantry let alone our body. What are all those additives? If you do not know what it is and you cannot pronounce it-DO NOT EAT IT or put it on your skin.

It is that simple. This rule is #1 for a reason. We have go get off the sugar,toxic additives, toxic ingredients and GMO’s (more on GMO’s later). Our body takes a toll every time we eat processed food. When we eat processed foods we are bombarded by added colors, preservatives, salts, sugars and fake fats that our body cannot process.

Begin Intermittent fasting tonight!
Stop eating for 12-20 hrs a day!

Intermittent fasting is one way to give your digestive system and your body a break. When we fast from dinner to late morning, the next day, the body has an opportunity to begin to repair and heal.

Fasting is one of the most potent and powerful healing tools we have and it has been used for eons. Intermittent fasting is gives the body a break and therefore the body is in a state of healing.

Eat for only 6- 8 hrs a day! To begin this process we are more concerned with lengthening the time between meals. I started with eating whatever I wanted between 10am and 6pm. These were my eating hours. I actually found this to be easier than I originally imagined; especially since I believed I had “blood sugar” challenges i.e. hypoglycemia. But I find this way of eating wonderful for me; I have been eating intermittently for almost a year.

Intermittent fasting begins to prepare the body for becoming a fat burning machine a process also known as ketosis. Please check out Dr Darren Schmidt on Youtube. He has the most amazing, concise videos on the Ketogenic Diet. And there are many, many others who share wonderful keto eating wisdom.

What worked for me was to eat a strict Keto Diet for 60 days and become “fat adapted.” I quickly felt less hungry and began to burn fat, a more healthy fuel for life!

One thing to be aware of is something called “keto flu,” and it is about as fun as it sounds! But mine lasted less than 4 days as I had been moving toward fat adaption for about 3 months with intermittent fasting. Each person is different regarding this transition phase and it can last up to 2 weeks I have heard.

This is not a Keto class; but keto is the way we get off sugar!

Sugar ain’t sweet for your health!
Get off the sugar and stay off

Sugar is the problem. Plain and simple. Get off the sugar, stop all sweets,grains and crappy carbs! And if you don't know what a crappy carb is...look it up! You are the only one who can take back your health!

Sugar has long been the primary source of energy we burn in our body for about the last 100 years. In this time we have gone from eating about 4lbs of sugar per year in the 1700’s to about 90 lbs in the early 1900’s to more than 156 lbs of added sugar each year by every American. catch the article here

Sugar in of itself, in the form of natural glucose is not what we are talking about; we are talking about the toxic white genetically modified sugars which include the extremely toxic high fructose corn syrup, the sugar alternatives, and the fake syrups and flavorings.

The body does not recognize these toxins which cause a full array of responses that devastate our immune system. They create lack of ease within-or dis-ease.
