Welcome to the World of Korean BBQ!

in food •  7 years ago

My girlfriend ( @joaniepie ) and I tried out a new Korean BBQ spot that recently opened in Irvine, CA. The Kang Hodong Baekjeong chain originates from Seoul, Korea and made it's way to the United States. The Korean BBQ craze has been going on for years in Southern California, representing a unique way of dining.

Enjoy!

The Setup: Egg, Cheese Corn, Grilled Vegetables, Kimchi, Spicy Bean Sprouts, House Special Dipping Sauce, Pickled Radish and Lettuce.

Air vents centered above each grill.

Complementary spicy tofu soup.

Thinly sliced brisket and prime rib eye.

The unique Kang Hodong method of preparing and eating your Korean BBQ.

Very nice photography. The food looks so delicious, I'm starving on the bus home from work right now and I might have to go get me some Korean food on the way =)

Thanks for checking it out. Definitely a work in progress.

bought a jar of kimchi today, i just love the stuff :)

Agreed, love the taste. The smell though, takes time to get used to!

ah, i guess i was lucky, mine didnt have fish sauce in it, but i do like sauerkraut so cabbage that has gotten fermented is great indeed, i will probably try the original some time but if its like our fermented fish we have here im probably staying away :)
