I wasn't sure what to post this evening, so, as I was preparing my dinner, I whipped out my camera to catch a few shots.
The recipe I used for the chapattis was extremely simple (courtesy of Vegan Richa's Indian Kitchen)
- 1 cup of wholewheat four
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/3 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of warm water
- additional flour for kneading/dusting
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl to create a dough. Use some extra water if the dough seems dry or comes together as a stiff dough.
Brush the lightly with oil, cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Grease your hands and then knead the dough for a few seconds, and then divide into approximately 12 equal parts.
Roll each part into a thin, 7-inch, flatbread and the dust both sides with flour.
Cook on a HOT skillet for about 25 seconds and then flip to cook the other side. Place in the oven, on a low heat, whilst you cook the rest.
We enjoyed ours with a chickpea and potato curry that had been in the slow-cooked all day.
I hope you enjoy this content (and the chapatti recipe). If so please consider upvoting, esteeming, commenting and following.
Lol, nice one! By the way, the first tag is the primary category that your polst will be placed in. Choose wisely!
