Hello Steemians,
Last NYE 2019 celebration we went to our grandma's house for our annual celebration of new year. We were there earlier like 4 in the afternoon because we got other appointments to attend to later in the night. I forgot to prepare a dish as part of our regular contribution to the party. Good thing I brought with me a few dozen of duck eggs which are now good to be made into a Balut which is considered as an exotic food by foreign people. Here in the Philippines balut is a very popular local food that almost all pinoys love.
I do not have anything to share and I immediately thought I would cook these balut into a famous pinoy dish called adobo. My relatives have not tasted this because it is relatively new recipe. Here is how I cooked this dish right before the NYE celebration.
I washed the duck eggs carefully making sure they are clean enough to be cooked. Then I boiled them water level is enough to submerge the eggs. After thirty minutes without lid on the eggs are good so I removed the shells.
these are the remaining eggs which will be eaten as it and they are the typical balut. crack them open sprinkle a bit of salt and you are good
On a pot a put all the eggs added some spices that I can find in my grandma's kitchen like salt, pepper, onion, garlic, green pepper. I sauteed the spices then added the eggs and after a few minutes they are ready.
Hope you like my quick cooking.
