in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

It means "ground fish muscle" but, What is? In a few words we can say that is a low cost fish mix that are ground and processed to become a kind of sausage that it serve like an ingredient for other dishes.

The surimi was introduced in the market in the 80's and it became popular and it works as a substitut of lobster, shrimp and crab. It is recommended that its consumption be sporadic, being a processed ingredient it can contain artificial things like conservative and others and maybe it can be rich in vitamins and omega 3.

What do you thing?
