This giant clump of Purslane was cramping my artichoke garden's style...and there is more where that came from!

I welcome your recipes, especially if they include Roma tomatoes and/or peaches, cos I am also rolling in those right now :)

Summertime is hyper-abundant. I think my quick fix, year round amenities, Southern California culture doesn't know what to do when midsummer harvests catch us offguard. Commuters, take care. You are loved by weeds like delicious edible Purslane hiding between the cracks in the pavement.

Bless.

so hungry..

Does purslane grow where you live? Is wildcrafting allowed in your area? Maybe there is some free food growing nearby. I learned of many wild edibles from a book called "Eat the Weeds." Wish you were in S. Calif, I would make you dinner.

ive seen that plant once before, but here I am only growing a few things.. I see alot of dandilion and think about what i could do with it .. one day maybe we can tho

Wow! excellent

Yay, I am glad you like it! Have you ever eaten Purslane? Do you have a favorite way of preparing it?

I have enjoyed it in a breakfast stirfry a few times with potatoes and onions.

I saw a pickling recipe that tickles my fancy.

And I have read that Mayans like to batter and deep fry it for street food in Central America.

No I never eat Purslane but I have heard name of Purslane........

I pickled it with tomatoes.

I fed the excess purslane to the hens :)

I think I may take a risk and pickle it up with some romas and peaches for the mad "whimsickle" fuckery of it all!

Yes! I just saw that* same one*(edit) on an online recipe search. Do you have any tips or experience with, pickling purslane?

I've my on it but never made it myself.
