Postre fácil y economico: Budin de pan

Los ingredientes que se necesitan para este super fácil y tradicional postre sudamericano no son muchos y se pueden encontrar en cualquier supermercado o tienda.

Vas a necesitar:

  • 1 litro de leche
  • 6 huevos medianos
  • 6 panes medianos (ver en la foto)
  • 6 cucharadas de azúcar (aprox)
  • 1 cucharada de extracto de vainilla (o al gusto)

Preparación:

Poner la leche en un bol, agregar el pan desmenuzado en pequeños trozos. Agreguen los que crean necesarios y dejen que se remojen bien en la leche. La mezcla no debe quedar ni muy seca ni muy liquida.

Poner los 6 huevos enteros,

seguidos del extracto de vainilla y el azúcar, mezclar todo muy bien.

Poner la mezcla en una fuente para horno previamente enmantecada o con un poco de aceite para que no se pegue en los bordes.

Hornear a fuego medio hasta que tome un color dorado y hasta que al meter un cuchillo éste no salga muy mojado. Acuerdensé que es un budin y no debería tampoco estar extremadamente seco.

Puede servirse frío o caliente, acompañado de chocolate, caramelo, helado, mermelada o lo que ustedes deseen.

Easy and cheap dessert: Bread pudding

The ingredients needed for this super easy and traditional South American desert are not numerous and can be found at any supermarket or store.

You will need:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 6 medium sized eggs
  • 6 small breads (see 1st photo)
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar (approximately)
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract (or as desired)

Preparation:

First you need to pour the milk in a bowl, in which you will add the the bread you had torn in smaller chunks. Add as much as you need to make the bread moist. The mixture needs to be not too wet, and not too dry.

Add the eggs, followed by sugar and vanilla extract.

Mix it all together. Pour the mixture in the baking dish you had previously oiled up.

Bake until it's golden and slightly browned from the outside. You can check it with a toothpick test (poke the pudding with a toothpick, if it comes out dry, it is done, if not, bake until it does).

It can be served cold or warm, accompanied with chocolate, caramel, ice cream, jam or whatever you prefer.
