Bean Plant Growth Time Lapse - 15 minutes in 2 seconds

in food •  4 years ago

The summer bean harvest is in, and they're delicious!

But they're almost all gone. Luckily, my fall crop is coming along quickly:

I watered that little sprout after a long sunny day, and let my camera run for 15 minutes to catch the reaction.

This second crop will be yielding food through October. It was planted using seeds (beans) from the first crop:

"Heirloom gardening"

And "heirloom seeds" are just other ways to say growing plants the way Nature does it. Fertile seeds are naturally produced by healthy plants as part of their life cycle. Properly collecting and storing those seeds, then deploying them at the right time in the right place, is the role of the heirloom gardener.

It adds an additional layer of complexity and risk, but also additional rewards.

Regardless of your gardening skill level and techniques, I hope you're growing if you want to be, and I hope it has been a good season for you!

Grow in peace,
DRutter

Good deal dude. Healthy fresh food. They look great! Keep up the gardening. You'll need it!

Thanks bud! Doing my best. Got 30 garlic bulbs dried and ready for use (or planting about Halloween), lots of tomatoes, doing some chili and spaghetti sauce tomorrow. Also getting as many seeds back for next year (and for trading). :)

Sounds real good. I know you have a wife and child so food security is a high priority.
