Homemade Almond Milk

Almond milk is tasty, nutritious milk that has many important health benefits.

It is especially good for you if you have problem with lactose or you are a vegetarian.

It doesn't contain saturated fats nor cholesterol but contains omega-3 fatty acids which makes it very good for your heart.

Almond milk is rich in protein, 250ml of milk contains about one gram of protein.

It has very little calories and is rich in many vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamin E, manganese, selenium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, fiber, phosphorus and calcium.

It's great for those who want to lose weight in a healthy way.

Now, I want to share with you the recipe for homemade almond milk.

Yes, you read right: you can make it at home and it's so easy to make!

For this milk you need:

  • 1 cup of almonds
  • 4 cup of water
  • Cinnamon, vanilla extract or dates (optional)

Instructions:

  • Put almonds in cold water and leave them overnight to soften
  • Drain and rinse almonds
  • In a blender add almonds and water, blend at the highest speed for 2-3 minutes
  • If you want you can add cinnamon, vanilla extract or 2-3 dates and blend again
  • Strain the almond and press all the almond milk from the almond meal

You can storage the almond milk in the fridge about 3-5 days.

The leftover almond meal can be added to oatmeal, smoothies or muffins.
