The local term for this al fresco dining experience is "pungko-pungko". Literally translated, it means "squat". You squat on a low bench beside the road with a small table where fried foods will be served.

These fried foods include crab meat, longaniza (spanish sausage), local spring roll, and the number 1 and main pungko-pungko food, the ginabot or deep fried pork intestine.

Rice is served as poso or hanging rice. The grains are cooked inside a triangular casing made from weaved coconut leaves. Each poso is equivalent to one cup of rice. Also, the sauce is served with unlimited chopped white onions.

This is not for those with sensitive stomach. I do not personally know anyone who had complained, but I know people who want to stay safe. Or those on diet, since the deep frying process is fatty itself. Regardless, they're missing half of their life...

You can only 50PHP or nearly 1USD (ONE GRACIOUS DOLLAR), you can enjoy an entire meal! Two hanging rice, two pork intestines and a bottle of ice cold Pepsi.
