This right here is one of my all time favorite meals to eat and its also a part of my Peruvian culture, Ceviche. This particular ceviche is a traditional ceviche (mixto) made with Rocoto and Aji Limon for additional spiciness.
Ceviche is typically served with a white fish (grouper, tilapa, etc etc), with cilantro and onions drenched in lime juice. People order it without any spicy flavour but if you get it without the spiciness you're honestly missing out. Ceviche is almost always served with some level of spiciness and some restaurants go beyond what is typically acceptable (which is absolutely no problem for me because I love spicy food).
Additional shrimp, shellfish, and octopus is added to the mixto variety of the meal hence the name, mixto or mixed. As for your sides, you'll generally always see a sweet potato or some kind of corn and "canchitas", or fried corn kernels. At the base of the plate there are large pieces of lettuce soaking in the lime juice. I tend to eat just about EVERYTHING including drinking the spicy lime juice. Honestly, its worth it.
It's definitely a meal that I love and you guys should definitely come to Central Florida to try this out at Aji Ceviche Bar!
Such an incredible meal to have. A delicacy.
