DIY Energy/protein balls

in food •  7 years ago

I stumbled upon this recipe on darebee.com an excellent website with tons of exercises and recipes for a healthy lifestyle. I decided to give one a try seeing that I had all of the necessary ingredients. I highly recommend these. They make a great snack or even a small meal.

Nutrition:
15 balls / 30g per ball
90 Calories per ball
4g protein
4g fat
10g carbohydrates

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (125g) peanut butter
1 1/2 cups (125g) uncooked oatmeal
3.5oz (100g) dried cranberries
1 semi ripe banana
*coconut oil (the recipe doesn't call for coconut oil, but I love it so I add it to just about everything :)

First add the oats, peanut butter and cranberries to a medium/large size bowlIMG_7210.JPG

You can then add the banana to help bind the mix together. *add coconut if you wish
Roll with your hands into small balls
*I made 24 with this recipe, it will vary depending how big you make each one
When finished, store in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour

These sounds delicious! I use a similar recipe, except with chocolate chips (highly recommended if you're a fan of chocolate).
